PLEASE NOTE WHICH AGE GROUP YOUR CHILD WILL BE IN!
Age Groups: USA Volleyball has designated age groups in which the teams will compete against each other. The age groups used by our region are as follows:
12 and under: Players who were born on or after July 1st 2008.
(usually 4th-6th graders)
13 and under: Players who were born on or after July 1st 2007.
(usually 7th graders)
14 and under: Players who were born on or after July 1st 2006.
(usually 8th graders)
15 and under: Players who were born on or after July 1st 2005.
(usually freshman in high school)
16 and under: Players who were born on or after July 1st 2004.
(usually sopohomores in high school)
17 and under: Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2003.
(usually juniors in high school)
18 and under: Players who were born on or after July 1st 2002 or were high school students in the twelfth
(12th) grade or below during the current academic year and are 19 years of age or younger (born on or after July 1, 2001).
Note: We will likely have teams in the 13, 15 and 17 and under age groups. Our region does not sponsor many, if any, tournaments for those age groups, so they will compete in the age group under which they fall (13’s compete in the 14 age group, 15's in the 16’s and 17's compete in 18 and under). Generally, 12’s are 5th and 6th graders, 13’s are 7th graders, 14’s are 8th graders, 15's are freshman in High School, 16's are sophomores, 17's are juniors and 18's are seniors.
All players who wish to play for Webfoot Juniors need to attend all tryout days scheduled for their age group. If you cannot attend all the sessions, please make arrangements in advance so we can properly evaluate your child.
Our goal is to provide each player with a fair and equal chance to display their abilities to the coaching staff. We understand that there are many factors that can affect playing our best, and we will try to keep that in mind when evaluating each player. Our plan is not to cut players but provide a team for each player who wants to play club volleyball.
Registration for tryouts: When you come to tryouts you will need to have already completed paperwork, print it out, and have it with you when you attend the first day of tryouts.
The First step is to register with USA volleyball through our region, Columbia Empire Volleyball. This is the procedure for online registration:
Go to www.cevaregion.org
On the home page in the upper right-hand corner, there is a light blue box titled memberships. Click on this box and it will take you to the membership page. There you will have options for the type of membership you would like. For tryouts you can choose one of the following types, listed under the Junior Membership heading.
a. Tryout Membership - $10
b. Full Junior Membership ( 17 and under) - $60
c. Full Junior Membership (18 and over) - $60
Choose they tryout membership if you are not sure if you are going to play club this year but would like to try out. If you choose to play you will need to upgrade and pay the additional $50 before you are allowed to practice. Choose the 18 and over membership if your player will turn 18 before July 1, 2021.
2. Go through the registration process. Be sure to read everything carefully!
3. When you are done you will pay for your membership online.
4. You will receive an email from USA volleyball confirming your registration.
The second step is to fill out our Webfoot paperwork, which is our Webfoot Player Information Form that can be found on our website. All of these forms are also linked here for your convenience!
THINGS TO BRING TO TRYOUTS:
2. CEVA Membership card
Even if you are unsure if you are going to play club volleyball, or unsure if you are going to play for Webfoot, you must register with the CEVA for insurance purposes. We cannot let your child participate in tryouts if they have not registered with the CEVA.
On the final day of tryouts for your age group the teams will be determined, and you will be asked to make a decision if you will accept your team placement. On that final day we will need a parent available at the pick up time to sign a letter of commitment for your child's assigned team. The following week we will have a meeting to fill out additional paperwork, get your schedule, and size for your uniforms. At this time a down payment is due for every player in every age group.
The down payments are as follows:
$400 for 11/12
$500 for 13/14’s,
$600 for 15/16’s and
$700 for 17/18’s.
A payment schedule for the remaining amount due will be handed out during your meeting.
